February 8, 2023

17. Mayor Officer opened the meeting at 6:00pm, the pledge of allegiance was done,

and roll call.

  The minutes of January 11, 2023 were considered. MSP: To approve the

minutes of

22. Payables:

 Rob Gaslin the City’s CPA shared the budget and expenditure report.

MSP: To pay the

23.  bills, Councilor McClung/Gangler.

25. Public Works Report:

  PWD, Chris Camarena shared that the city is putting

together an

26.  infrastructure wish list for updating its wastewater system, street project, and

water meters to
27.  Senator Finley.

  Displayed a picture of the “Welcome to Prairie City” sign that he built

for his senior

32. Fire Report:

  Repeater issue and continuous squelching on the radios. County

34. Mayor Officer amended the agenda to include the Museum Director.
35. Museum Director:

  Bob reported that he is applying for a grant that will fund

additional
36.  trainings.
37. Council Water:

  The amended charter states that the council cannot receive free

water for

38.  compensation. The council can put it before the people to vote on for November

and let the
39. people decide.

43. Scott Officer amended the agenda to include Ordinance 2023-01.

45. Ordinance NO. 2023-01:

  The city is proceeding with the street vacation.

  Mayor Officer read aloud ordinance NO. 2023-01 to all

present. MSP:

46.  To approve Ordinance NO. 2023-01 Councilor Bloom/Gangler.

48. Grant County MOU:

 An agreement between Grant County and Prairie City to

share

49.  maintenance. The county will provide rock and equipment for the City’s use in

trade for getting

50.  to store the rock on city property. MSP: To approve the Grant County MOU

53. Public Works Director Comp Time Paydown:
