Council Meeting
July 13, 2022

16. Mayor Hamsher opened the meeting at 6:00 pm, the pledge of allegiance was done, and
17. roll call taken.
18.Minutes:
19.Mayor Hamsher strikes June 8 Minutes from the agenda.
20. The minutes from May 11, 2022 were considered.
21.MSP: To approve the minutes from May 11, 2022 council meeting. Councilor
22.McClung/Bloom. All members present voted unanimously.

24.Grace Chapel:
25.Representatives from Grace Chapel, Sharon Thistle and Jim Howard, expressed concerns
26.about the ground water that floods their church and wanted to know why the city doesn’t
27.provide storm drains.
28.Public Works Director, Chris Camarena explained the logistics and legalities with DEQ.

30.ORDINANCE NO.2022-01:
31.ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR HAULED-WASTES THAT
32.CAN BE ACCEPTED BY THE PRAIRIE CITY WATEWATER SYSTEM.
33.Councilor Chase Bloom reads aloud proposed Ordinance No.2022-01 for all present to
34.hear.
35.MSP: Approval of Ordinance 2022-01 Councilor Williams/Councilor Bloom.
36.All members present voted unanimously. Yay 6    Nay 0

38.Public works Report:
39.Mayor Hamsher called on Public Works Director Chris Camarena for his report. Chris
40.said that Anderson Perry the City’s engineer firm sent us a new engineer to head up the

41.Faiman Project and that everything is going great. Chris projects the projects completion
42.the end of August the beginning of September.

44.Fire Report:
45.Mayor Hamsher called on Chief Marvin Rynearson for his report. Chief Rynearson
46.reports two lighting strike fires from the night before.
47.Chief Rynearson reports the city received the fire prevention grant money, and that
48.someone will start work immediately.

50.Payables:
51.To ratify payment of the bills. MSP: To pay the bills. Councilor McClung/Councilor
52.Williams.

54.Other Business:
55.Mayor Hamsher announced potential grant funds from Senator Merkley’s office.

57.Mayor Hamsher adjourned the council meeting.
